The St. Charles Public Library offers the residents of its district one of the largest collections of reading materials in the Fox Valley and reference assistance that includes an extensive range of internet-based information services. Ranked in the top 1% of libraries of its size nationwide, it also offers patrons of all ages an appealing variety of programs. Family Story Sharing, book discussion groups for adults and children, a writers group, poetry slams, Books at Noon, Read-a-Thons, a Lyric Opera series and a variety of musical concerts keep the large meeting room and the historic Carnegie Community Room calendars full. An active Outreach department serves patrons unable to get to the library.
